Ive read all i can about my site being indexed. I understand there's
no time given but its been well over a week now for still no result.
There doesnt seem to be anything come back at me in regards to errors
or faults with my site. I did notice i'm able to be listed under
sponsered links. The message i have in my overview page is this:
No pages from your site are currently included in Google's index.
Indexing can take time. You may find it helpful to review our
information for webmasters and webmaster guidelines.
Whats the normal waiting period? Is more then a week normal?

Without going into anything else may I ask where you got the
descriptions of all your products from?

And then think how many other merchants are using the same
descriptions!

That makes all the pages of the same product a "duplicate".

Google will only index one and all the other duplicates go in the bin.

Now then, does this apply to your site? Copyscape says it does!

Go here http://www.copyscape.com/ and enter this
http://www.mrracquets.com.au/product.php?id_product=125 and you can
see all the other retailers using the same wording as you.

Nothing else matters at this point.

Hi again

You can use stuff from the manufacturer to make sure you are telling
your customers exactly what the product is - you don't want to become
responsible for any kind of warranty or misleading statement BUT you
can then back this up with your opinion (un-warranted) about the
product and that then is the unique element. You want more of your own
words than the duplicated words to make sure the balance is in your
favour.

Question 1) No it will not stop all of them because its a kind of
balance. In some cases you may well have the upper hand by the
particular way you have displayed a product. But the chances are not
good as things stand.

Question 2) Google will realise, computers algorithms don't read like
we do. You could put all the words into a glass, shank them up and the
technology would still be able to say the were the same words as in
another sentence.

When I write something for the web I carefully read three of four
different sources and may do it again until I have an understanding of
the subject, then I put the source material away and write freehand
copy of what I think I know. Then after proof reading and verifying
any factual statements (usually using Google!) I publish my article -
999 times out of 1000 its totally unique. Give it a go! (You get
better at it with practise too)

In saying that do you think google will index my site as it
stands...soon? it would be nice to know it would atleast appear in
their search bar when typing in the entire name i.e. www.mrracquets.com.au
Obviuosly ranking & position isnt something im ready for yet as the
site stands ..... but surely i should be atleast indexed?

Duplicate content is certainly an issue, but it only rarely stops a
site being indexed at all like yours.

  im presuming the way to find out is to get one of my pages already
indexed then add some cut n paste content thats found readily around
the traps see if it remains indexed?

  i submitted a site map and on the 1st go only 1 page of 279 were
indexed. After removing some copied content on more pages [ ive not
had the chance to do very many ] the total now reads 31 indexed pages
after submitting my site map again. Is this because Ive done what JV
suggested or perhaps other reasons?
  Ive done what i can in my descriptions thanks to the thesaurus but i
really had trouble changing some of the technology talk & in the end
just deleted some info that i didnt really want to. Do you suggest i
keep trying to make my site more 'original' then get Google to look
over it again, then perahps put some of this info back in and see what
happens?
